Tateyama Murodo at an altitude of 2,450 meters receives one of the heaviest snowfalls in the world. Before spring comes, snows on the Tateyama Alpine Route get cleared by bulldozers, making snow walls of up to 20 meters high. People can walk 500 metres of distance between the snow walls in Murodo. The route is to be open for 2014 from April 16 to June 22.
